(10/17/22 - 10/24/22) Skydio 2+ Training and ArcPro Gis Data Processsing

In week 9, the Skydio 2 platform was introduced. The manual was thoroughly read through and important qualities the platform offers were noted. Skydio has 360 degree obstacle avoidance, computer vision, doesn't rely on a compass (GPS) thus, is able to fly through electro-magnetic interference. Skydio 2 also has a variety of cinematic skills that can autonomously track and fly while capturing media.

In week 10, data from a burn site (Doak burn site) was manipulated in various ways within Arc Gis Pro. Different color bands were activated and un-activated to see how different spectral qualities changed. Data within the multi-band composite raster was also looked at which could change the values and strength of the red, green, blue values.

One tool that proved to be helpful with analyzing the burn site before and after, or examining two different composite bands placed on a flight area was the swipe tool.

Swipe tool overlap of Doak burn site: Postburn RGB and Postburn Inferno Composite band (top).

I chose the Inferno composite band because it really demonstrated the how different freshly burnt vegetation can appear. On the swipe tool line, I tried to show how a burnt patch appears in both true RGB and with the Inferno band.
