(9/19/22) Field Outing: SFM MVS 3D Model Software Application

Week 5 consisted of using Pix4D Capture to create and fly a 3D scan of a small plot of land at the Purdue Wildlife Area. This was an introduction to the planning and flight composition using the Pix4D Capture application with DJI Mavic 2 platforms

Northeastern quadrant of Purdue Wildlife Area. 80% overlap and sidelap, 122 meters altitude.

In total 108 images were taken, with an average size of 10.5 mb, and with an entire dataset being 1.05 gb stored within a class 3 SD card. Below is an image captured during flight. Make notice of the over-exposure that was present. This later caused an issue when processing data. Which resulted in a later map being compiled as a capture of the John Wright Martell Forestry Center instead of the Purdue Wildlife Center.
